In the original The Phenomenal Night Phoenix #1 Courtney came to visit Adonijah Wilkson (Night Phoenix), late in the evening to talk about the investigation, but there were hints she was romantically interested in him. This is a relationship Mona, another admin, warned him against. These pages were later removed and reused in Victor Locke Demon Hunter, where her hair color would be changed, she was given shades and a walking stick and her character became Nessia Hakimi.
