Josh Kneelly was born and raised in the bustling city of Chicago, where he spent most of his life. Growing up in a middle-class family, he always had a curious mind and an aptitude for learning. This led him to pursue higher education, and he eventually graduated with a degree in biology. With his academic credentials, he secured a position as a research assistant at a prestigious university. Josh lived alone in a modest one-bedroom apartment in Edgewater, a vibrant neighborhood on Chicago's north side.

Despite his academic and professional success, Josh harbored a secret struggle. Unbeknownst to him, he was a sex addict. This compulsion dominated his personal life, driving him to seek sexual encounters or indulge in pornography and masturbation whenever he wasn't working or eating. Story Arcs

In Darc! issue one, Katelyn learns that Josh was truthful about his struggles with sex addiction. Still nursing feelings for Josh and also considering how he could help the group, she was determined to reconnect. Locating him through his sex addiction support group she convinces him to have a sit down. Initially resistant, Josh eventually agrees to speak with her, but he didn't know Katelyn was about to introduce him to her friend Patrika and her coven, The Seed Eaters. Unbeknownst to Josh, Katelyn had already briefed Patrika on his high libido, and the supernatural women were keen to recruit him.

Quickly welcomed into their fold, Josh abandons his celibacy vow that very night. As part of their arrangement, he is "given" to Katelyn by the end of the night, ensuring she has him exclusively in the evenings. Later, Katelyn offers comfort to Josh as he navigates the emotional turbulence following his encounters with the succubi. Despite his initial thrill, he struggles with the complexities of his new experiences. This pivotal moment marks the beginning of a challenging journey for Josh, balancing his addiction with the extraordinary allure of the supernatural realm.
