Overview

Abigail Adams was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, on November 11, 1744. She married John Adams, who was the second President of the United States, making her the second First Lady of the United States. Women's rights movements and slavery were two areas of politics where Abigail payed particular attention and efforts towards. She preached that woman should strive for more than just being married to their husbands, and strive for their own excellence. She famously sent a letter to Continental Congress, a quote from that letter being as follows "...remember the ladies, and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors. Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the Husbands. Remember all Men would be tyrants if they could. If particular care and attention is not paid to the Ladies we are determined to foment a Rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any Laws in which we have no voice, or Representation."

In Rodney Barnes' and Jason Shawn Alexander's Killadelphia (published by Image), John Adams traveled to the Caribbean after his presidency. There, he and his wife Abigail were ambushed by vampires who turned them both. Returning to America, they started a vampire community in Philadelphia.
