Historical Person.

Bloody Knife is most famously known for his role in the Battle of the Little Big Horn.  He was one of Custer's favorite scouts.   When he was a child he didn't like white people who teased him and called him halfbreed.  He eventually enlisted in the United States Calvary and was assigned to the 7th.
 
At the battle of little Big Horn he was with Major Reno's men when he was shot in the head.  He was standing right next to Reno when he was shot and it caused the major to make some bad orders and many of him men were lost in the retreat.  After the battle his body was decapitated and taken back to camp.

In DC Comics a ghost of a man called Bloody Knife trained Adrian Chase who became the Vigilante.
