Cardinal Richelieu
Cardinal Richelieu (1585 - 1642) was the chief minister of France (de facto Prime Minister) from 1624 to 1642. His internal policies aimed at reducing the power of all domestic factions and subjecting them to the centralized authority under the King. His external policies aimed at rivaling the Habsburgs of Austria and Spain in all fronts and elevating France's power status. He is featured prominently in "Three Musketeers" (1844).
