In Vertigo's Sandman series, The Colonel made an appearance in Mort Notkin's dream. Nort was supposed to be guarding Dream, but Dream escaped into Nort's dream. In Nort's dream, Colonel Sanders is in it, smiling and holding a bucket of chicken with a frog leg hanging out of it (tastes like chicken - remember this is a dream). The bucket says "Char Mayne" on it (the frog leg is hanging over the bucket and may be covering a letter that goes after "Char"). Dream, just having escaped a very long imprisonment, took some chicken from the bucket the Colonel was holding, and along with other food in Mort Notkin's "dream party." Dream is so hungry that "I don't even taste it." The food Dream eats in the dream strengthens him. Hopefully the Colonel did the chicken right.
