While at a hotel, the manager tells H.P. Lovecraft the story of when The Shadow came to Innsmouth and defeated Zadok Allen and a gang of bootleggers who dressed up as fish men and how they used the legend of Deep Ones to scare people off the streets at night. This leads the writer to write Shadows Over Innsmouth.

After the events of the Necronomicon Rising, Herbert West is send back in time to the 1920s, where he is stranded on the side of the road outside of Arkham. He is picked up by a good Samarian, named Howard Lovecraft. Lovecraft gives West a ride to the Miskatonic University, and listens to his story, this gives Lovecraft the idea for his story, Herbert West the Re-animator.
