Mehmed the Conqueror
Mehmed the Conqueror was an Ottoman sultan who defeated the Byzantines in 1453, ending the Eastern Roman Empire and capturing Constantinople for the Turks. His military expansions into Europe caused his path to cross with Vlad the Impaler, and thus Mehmed often features in the origin story of Dracula.
