Ulysses S. Grant
Ulysses Grant (1822-1885) was a general of the American Civil War, fighting for the Union Side. He served as the Commanding General of the United States Army from 1864 to 1869. He was twice elected President of the United States, serving from 1869 to 1877. His presidency was plagued by corruption scandals involving members of his cabinet and other federal officials.
