Origin

Betty Randall is a relative of the brothers Curtis Randall and Harvey Randall.  Curtis was an old wealthy man worth fifty million in 1941.  He set up a meeting with everyone who stood a chance to inherit his fortune just to tell them that they were not getting anything.  This lead to Curtis's murder by his brother Harvey.  Harvey also set Betty up in a frame for not only Curtis's murder but two others as well.  If not for the intervention of the Sword she would have been killed as well.  Harvey was found out and fought to his end with the sword leaving Betty the soul survivor of the family and a will that had not changed yet.

Creation

Betty Randall has her first appearance in the Sword story in Police Comics.  It was never revealed how she was related to the Randall family or if she inherited the fortune.
