An old friend and cohort of saboteur A. Spade, Carim Bombay eventually double-crossed his partner and killed Spade in order to reap all the profits from Spade's operation. The sabotage was foiled by Captain Triumph, though Bombay escaped.
Carim Bombay was modeled after actor Peter Lorre (specifically Lorre's "Joel Cairo" character from "The Maltese Falcon"), while Spade was drawn to resemble Lorre's frequent co-star Sydney Greenstreet.
