He became Chief Judge in 2057, succeeding Chief Judge Solomon. He was Chief Judge when Call-Me-Kenneth attacked during the Robot War.
He had clashed with Judge Dredd on how to handle the robot's causing Dredd's resignation. He recognised his mistake and reinstated Dredd, who dealt with the rebellion.
He was forced to convict Judge Dredd of murder when he was framed and found it hard to deal with that decision. He was murdered on the orders of then Deputy Chief Judge Cal, who succeeded him as Chief Judge.
