Macha is the mother of Slaine MacRoth.

Macha was a beautiful woman who, since an early age, wanted to marry a warrior of note. When she met Roth Bellyshaker, he was a renowned warrior and they settled down together.

However, Bellyshaker without battle turned to drinking which caused tension between them. After becoming drunk Bellyshaker bragged that his wife could outrun the king's chariot and made her enter the race. Macha died in the race.
