It's apparent that, because of Naruto Uzumaki's duty as the Seventh Hokage, he is receiving little attention from his father, and has pushed his feelings out in mischievous schemes, much like pre-shippuuden Naruto. It is currently unknown of what his goals are, if any, or any relationships he has with the other children in his academy. He does seem to have a friendly relationship with Shikadai Nara.

He is teammates with Sarada Uchiha and led by Konohamaru, and much to her chagrin, Boruto doesn't seem to care about the status of Hokage, or even the Chuunin Exams. He's quick to give up, as evident by his resolve to use cheap jutsu-creation mechanics, rather than hard work. He is currently looking to be trained under Sasuke Uchiha.

Character Evolution

When we first meet Boruto he is carefree talented youth who abhors hardwork and always seeking short cuts to the point of cheating during the Chunin Exams. For All his flaws he is deeply loyal and open minded when meeting people. Boruto held some resentment towards Naruto for placing his job as Hokage above his family but mask discontent with sarcasm.

After the confrontations with Momoshiki Otsutsuki became less entitled due to understanding the sacrifices his father makes and the weight power brings. The threat of Momoshiki taking over his body causes Boruto to self isolate become more self sacrificing.

Post time skip, Boruto has spent years in exile for crimes he didn't commit and has become a true shinobi willing be seen as a villain by the world in order to save the world. He is more mission oriented and embraced the idea of supporting from the shadows even willing to sacrifice his body to Momoshiki in exchange for power to save everyone.
