Thirty-one year old Guy Gilbert is the six-fot-one leader of T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Squad division of the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents. A Medal of Honor winner, he is offered the chance to become a super-powered agent by donning an electromagnetic suit produced by subjecting it to a speed-inducer rifle. This suit speeds up his reflexes by 100 times that of a normal human being. Not only does this permit him to run fast--even through space--but he can hurl innocent objects with bullet-like velocity, become invisible by vibrating at super speed, and even respond to sight and sound with superhuman quickness. Furthermore, he is able to hear perfectly well despite moving faster-than-sound. Because the suit was designed to protect Guy from the wind, his uniform also doubles as a flak jacket. On the debit side, however, is that for each moment Guy uses the suit, his life is shortened. Of course, no one can hear him if he complains about it since, when he's using the suit, guy's voice is also super-quick and cannot be understood.
