Originally appearing in the pages of Eagle Comic. The Mekon of Mekonta was the arch-nemesis of space hero Dan Dare. He was characterised by his large domed head and tiny body.

Looking as if he had flown out of a Hollywood B Movie of his time, the Mekon was the blueprint for just about every comicbook alien which followed (the evil plotting genius ones that is!) He was thankfully for all of us earthlings thwarted time and time again by the lantern jawed hero.
When Dan Dare was revamped in 2000AD in the 70's and then in the relaunched Eagle and all of the various other comics he's appeared in to date, it has always been the Mekon that has remained his most dangerous foe.
