On the hunt for Dracula, Abraham van Helsing went to Rome, Italy. There he met Elizabeth. For a while, Abraham forgot he was a hunter, a time in which Elizabeth got pregnant and bore him a daughter, Liesel. Shortly afterwards, Elizabeth was killed by Dracula, a reminder for Abraham of his former life as a hunter. Saddened, Abraham took Liesel to England to raise her, leaving his former life behind.

Van Helsing
In 2016, the SyFy channel released the series Van Helsing. However, some things were changed. Instead of the daughter, we see a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing named Vanessa Van Helsing. At first, she believed her name was Vanessa Seward (a possible allusion to a character from Dracula, John Seward). The setting also changed—instead of steampunk, it’s a post-apocalyptic future.
