The Alpha Effect(or Alpha Energy) is the Antithesis to the Darkseid's Omega Effect, both effects draw power from The Source which makes their capabilities boundless. Highfather is the inheritor of the Alpha Effect which he later passed on to his son Mr. Miracle.

Alpha Effect provides a host of abilities:

• Alpha Bullets: Similar to Darkseid's Omega Beams, Alpha Bullets are energy projectiles which lock onto targets. The Alpha Bullets can travel all across time and space to teleport, kill and restore people erased by the Omega Effect.
• Banishment: Mr. Miracle used the Alpha Effect to banish the Black Racer
• Efficacy Manipulation: Mr Miracle can use its effects to enhance a number of qualities such as his own physical straights and the technological prowess of his own equipment.
• Energy Manipulation: Control energies to an almost boundless degree even divine energy. Using the Alpha Effect, Mr. Miracle manipulate the divine energies of other gods, draining them and returning their energies with equal force enough to incapacitate as demonstrated with Thor.
• Healing: Can heal physicals wounds and mental illness.
  • Resurrection: Mr. Miracle uses his Alpha Effect powers to bring back all the dead New Gods.
• Molecular Reconstruction: Highfather can transmute and manipulate matter, and in extension atoms, at will.
• Peace Inducement: Having stopped a new war sparked between New Genesis and Apokolips.
• Phasing: Highfather has displayed the ability to phase through solid matter.
• Power Distribution: Highfather can endow other beings with enormous powers, either granting them new abilities or increasing old ones they already possess.
• Presence Negation: Able to make himself undetectable.
• Teleportation & Time Travel: Allows user to move themselves and others through realities, space and time.
• Telepathy: Highfather can peer into the minds of other beings and is capable both of healing or exerting influence.
