The eating of one of the same species. It may come about through necessity, religious and ceremonial purposes, as well as induced though infection and for the spread of infection as in zombieism.

Modern Depictions

Prevalent throughout many comics, one of the most famous examples of cannibalism is found in the pages of Dark Reign: The Sinister Spiderman, where a team of supervillains forms because of Venom's unusual eating habits. A point for dispute is whether or not vampirism is cannibalism. It probably is, because most vampires were once humans.
