Danske Tegneserier
The comic industry of Denmark, which has a lot of commonalities with the other Nordic industries.
Note: To avoid redundancy, this page should not be credited to all issues published by publishers from Denmark (which are listed below) but specifically to all comic material that was uniquely first published in Denmark, translated or otherwise. History
Of the five Nordic countries, the Danish comic publishing output is the third largest after Sweden and Norway. There is significant crossover between the countries on what they publish, often being translations of the same material in each group's unique national language. This also leads to them often having local publishers that are international divisions of a primary publisher from one of the other countries. One of the largest companies in the region (and beyond, with divisions in various other countries as well) is Denmark's Egmont. Another large publisher with multiple divisions that is based in Denmark is Carlsen. Similar to the other regional countries, the biggest comic publications in Danish are Disney comics like Anders And & Co..

Translation Industry
Outside of Disney comics major reprint publications include Basserne (Beetle Bailey) and Fantomet (The Phantom). Denmark also translates reprints of American superhero comics but are much less likely to translate Japanese manga compared to the larger European comic publishing countries.
