High-Speed Movement
A burst of movement which is a defensive technique used by Quincy's, Shinigami, Arrancar, and Fullbringers. This grants them a defensive edge and a mobility edge depending on the user's speed. It contains several variations of speed depending on the type of movement.
General Overview
High-Speed movement falls into several variations. Hoho, HirenKyaku, Bringer Light, and Sonido. Aizen's Teleportation will be noted as a special. These variations have the basics of movement speed and are often used as a defensive tactic or for general mobility.
Hoho used by Shinigami is a fancy footwork technique used for defensive or mobile purposes. Sonido is a technique used by Arrancar. It differs by not exerting Reaitsu in use, which makes detection harder, resulting in easy Hit and Run tactics. Hirenkyaku is used by Quincy's by being more energy efficient in use. It's created by riding the flow of reaitsu below their feet. Fullbringers use Bringer Lights which is created by pulling on the soul of the ground below their feet and granting them mobility. It can also be used for elasticity, increasing their jumping ability.
Hohō

Hohō (歩法, Step Method; Viz "Fast Movement") is a defensive-based style as well as a mobility-based technique that relies on footwork. It is one of the 4 Shinigami basics. It is used by Shinigami and Visoreds.
Overview
Hoho is an important skill for many Shinigmai which incorporates speed, skill, and agility. The Skill of Hoho can be enhanced and improved through detailed concentration, training, and mastery. Among the greatest practitioners of this technique, are those assigned to the Onmitsukidō. Shunpo (瞬歩, Flash Steps) is the greatest expression of the Hoho technique; however, there are variations even with Shunpo which only masters can use.
Shunpo
Shunpo (瞬歩, Flash Steps) is a movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow(FTE). Since speed is the main factor of technique, the method is best characterized as how fast a character can get from Point A to Point B using the least amount of steps. Training and skill determine the character's level of Shunpo. Users of little skill or those who haven't used the technique for a long time, causing them to be slower and increase their amount of steps or be winded in a short period of time.
- Yoruichi Shihoin goes by the title "Flash Goddess" (瞬神, Shunshin; Viz "Flash Master"), since she has the fastest Shunpo in all of Soul Society.
- Tenjiro Kirinji was once known as "Lightning-Fast Tenjirō" (雷迅の天示郎, Raijin no Tenjirō) for his skill in the art during his time in the Soul Society.
Way of Onmitsu, 3rd of the Shihō (隠密歩法 四楓の参, Onmitsu Shunpo Shihō no San; Viz "Four-Maple Secret Step") is a category of Shunpo which contains Utsutsemi.
Techniques
Shunpo has a few techniques or variations.
- Senka (閃花, Flash Blossom) is a variation of Shunpo which is the user moving behind the opponent and attacks and seals their Saketsu (鎖結, Chain Binding) and Hakusui (魄睡, Soul Sleep) in two rapid attacks. A victim is unable to tell from which way the user came if they were attacked from the front or the back due to the user's speed and an observer may find it impossible to tell when the movements were made.
- Utsusemi (空蝉, Cast-Off Cicada Shell; Viz "Cicada Shell") is a variation of Shunpo which falls under the category of Way of Omnitsu. The users moves at great speed to avoid an attack leaving an afterimage to make it seem as though they took damage, that is replicated with a cloth.
- Speed Clones is a variation of Shunpo which is when the practitioner creates several afterimages or clones of themself using Shunpo. It is hard to tell the clone/afterimage from the original.

Sonído

Sonído (響転 (ソニード), Sonīdo; Spanish for "Sound", Japanese for "Reverberating Turn") is a high-speed movement technique of the Arrancar. It is a basic skill
Overview
While similar to Hoho in regards to function and speed, Sonido doesn't require knowledge to perform. It produces a different sound from the silent swish or silent sneak of Shunpo and creates a strong buzzing static sound. While used by most Arrancar, the technique is best used by Zommari Rureaux possessing the 'fastest' Sonido among Arrancars. Coyote Starrk is also a notable user being able to use it to cover such a tremendous distance or use it so quickly, it seems akin to teleportation.
Techniques
Sonido has a few techniques or variations.
- Chōkasoku (超加速, Super Acceleration) is a technique used by Nelliel while in her Child Form. She accelerates her movements in a basic Sonido and when she uses the technique, her mask's eyes glow and she accelerates through the air at high speeds which can surprise Ichigo and knock him down at times.
- Gemelos Sonído (双児響転 (ヘメロス・ソニード), Hemerosu Sonīdo; Spanish for "Sound Twins", Japanese for "Twins Echo Revolution") is a sonido variation which Zommari uses. Zommari can increase his number of steps to leave after images of himself that look like clones. The maximum number of clones is 5 and they are so lifelike that when wounded, they bled which takes the opponent off-guard. It's often used as a distraction and Zommari says it's Akin to magic.

Hirenkyaku

Hirenkyaku (飛廉脚, Pure Flying Step; Viz "Flying Bamboo-Blind Slide" is an advanced Quincy movement technique allowing the user to move at high speeds by riding the reishi flow created under their feet.
Overview
To perform the technique, the user gathers Reishi below their feet and rides it to their designated location. Uryu Ishida once implied it's greater than Sonido or Shunpo but Mayuri's superior speed during their confrontation suggests this is generalizations or bias. Like air walking that most Shinigami or Arrancar use, it can be able to hover long distances. Mayuri once complimented Uryu saying that it was a difficult technique to master.
Hirenkyaku enables Quincy to keep up with and overpower faster opponents depending on the user's skill. The use of this technique aided Uryu as he defeated a seated officer, a Numeros Arrancar, and a Privaron Espada. However, the technique can also be used for more than general movement.
- Unnamed Platform Manefastion. When traveling through the Garganta, in contrast to Chad and Ichigo who created a single path of reishi, Uryu easily created a pathway beneath his feet. According to him, only a single instance of Hirenkyaku was needed.
- Uryu later used the technique to elevate himself and Orihime above the dome of Las Noches, where he revealed that he only recently realized it could be used outside the Garganta and in Hueco Mundo itself, laminating that he could've used it sooner in battle, it could've been used in battle. It is unknown if the variation can be used outside of Hueco Mundo.

Bringer Light

Bringer Light (完現光 (ブリンガーライト), Buringā Raito; Japanese for "Full Manifestation Light") is a high-speed movement technique which Fullbringers use by pulling the soul of the ground.
