Puppets

There is something unnerving about effigies and duplicates of human beings, which is why there are so many supernatural tales involving mirror reflections, statues coming to life, and animated scarecrows and dolls. This is even more unnerving when the effigy can already move, such as puppets and animatronic figures and humanoid robots. So, naturally, comic books love such things.
