- The Sleep That Lasted 1000 Years: (Superman) a group of crime bosses pays a scientist $1,000,000 to get rid of Superman. knowing he can't kill Superman he tricks Lois into a transparent tub where he uses gas to put her in suspended animation. when Superman shows up he is told Lois will be poisoned if he doesn't submit to the same gas. he agrees, thinking the gas won't affect him but it turns out it has powdered Kryptonite in it. the scientist buried the suspended Superman and Lois and they are found 1,000 years later. the men who find them marvel at Lois's beauty (partly because she is the only brunet left in the world as all women in this future are blond) and all want her to marry them. she tells them they can't compare to Superman but they start trying to reproduce his powers with science and need to be saved. Superman soon finds they are not in the future but on Venous, having only slept about an hour after the scientist shot them into space. knowing this Superman easily returns them to earth.
