Left on a reef to die, the infant Aquaman uses his strange powers to survive in what proves to be his first tentative step toward becoming the true King of the Seas. This tale reveals how Aquaman was raised by dolphins and tells of the role he played in a war between them and the deadly sharks. And along the way, he sees his first surface human.

Aquaman remembers his childhood being raised by Dolphins (and Porm) after being left on Mercy Reef. When some fishermen try to capture Porm, a young Orin intervenes attracting tha attention of Tom Curry from his ship.
