As she is being hailed as a goddess by a young woman who has noticed plants growing where they shouldn't, who also pleads for help from her, the island is attacked and all life on the island except for Ivy is destroyed. Throughout the rest of the book, we see Pamela Isleys back story, as we watch Poison Ivy take revenge on those who have destroyed her island.
