Batman tangles with a mob of gun-runners for a dictator and receives help from two low-level crooks and a ghost. On the night of their first anniversary, Jason Bard takes Barbara Gordon to go see the play Invitation to Murder, but the two are shocked to find that they are the only people in the audience. After spotting a rifle aimed to shoot one of the actors, Jason stops the gunman but is knocked out.

Batman tracks a group of militants who are supplying arms to South America. His journey leaves him all at sea when the traill leads to a lighthouse that has not been used for many a year. Using that Lighthouse as a base is the leader of the militant group, who, in the midst of storm, sea and battle with Batman, suddenly finds himself engulfed with flames.

Forty years previously, the last Lighthouse keeper murdered his lover at this point. His soul has known neither rest nor redemption until now.

Barbara Gordon and Jason find themselves in receipt of an "Invitation to Murder" in the Batgirl story. Finding the theatre totally empty, Jason is suddenly rifle butted, allowing Barbara the chance to change to Batgirl. She spots the would be assassin, but he escapes, and who could he be aiming at anyway? Returning to a much fuller theatre, they find a Hollywood star has been shot - and begin to investigate who might want him dead.

Since this is now a 25c title, it also features some reprint material in the back. First is the "Australian code mystery" from World's Finest #66 and then "Private Eye of Venus" from Strange Adventures #83.
