“HIGHWAY TO NOWHERE!” Batman investigates the mystery of truckers who lose their rigs after seeing the highway before them burst into phantom flames.

Batman stars in "Highway to Nowhere!" as he sets about breaking a drug smuggling ring, which uses HGV's to transport its poisonous wares. Using his "Matches Malone" persona, he infiltrates the gang and as Batman he then heads the truck off on a narrow pass. Enraged, the truck driver tries to run Batman down, only to succeed in driving his vehicle and its deadly cargo off the edge of a cliff.

In the cover story, "The Unmasking of Batgirl!" Barbara Gordon reveals her true identity to her Father -who has suspected they are one and the same over some time - and decides to throw her hat into the ring and run for congress. Feeling she can do more to battle organised crime from the senate than as a super heroine, Barbara decides to run for office instead of her Father, whose heart really isn't in it.
