The series bringing the Nuclear Man back to the DCU continues with Part 2 of the 3-part "Eye Contact"! All Hell's broken loose as 17-year-old Jason Rusch suddenly, mysteriously finds himself with the powers of Firestorm. But Jason doesn't have time to explore his new abilities, as real life comes crashing down on him in the form of Stevie Golek, the criminal Jason agreed to work for prior to gaining his powers. Now Jason's desperate to save his own life. But the price may be too terrible even to consider!

Jason plays with his powers as the new Firestorm, learning more about the Firestorm matrix and the man with whom he bonded in the process. After he separates himself from the thug, the latter has no memory of his time as part of Firestorm. After pursuing Stevie Golek, he panics and merges with Stevie, who then attempts to manipulate Jason. Jason is forced to defend himself from Stevie's men, and inadvertently drops a building on them. Jason then watches helplessly as Stevie begins to dissolve within the matrix.
