Synopsis

THE HUNT BEGINS!

Suited up with new armor and his newly forged, experimental Green Lantern ring, John Stewart leads his allies Shepherd and Prophet Rayner into the rain forest on a race against time to stop the Radiant Dead's invasion of Earth!

Can John destroy the Darkstar ring and save Earth...before succumbing to the deadly infection himself?

The Revenant Queen's mysterious bond with John Stewart is revealed in this pivotal issue!

Plot

Steelworks- John Stewart has just created a new Green Lantern Ring from Varron's old Radiant Dead Ring, and uses it to track down the Radiant Dead in the Amazon. He and Caolan Shepard are about to head down to stop them, but John learns his mother, Shiley Stewart, who was recently attacked by Varron is awake.

John goes to see her, but she is upset when he dementia takes a bad turn and she realizes that Ellie, her young daughter has been dead for years. John feeling bad for his mother, makes a construct of Ellie and gives it the command to act like Ellie and take care of his mother while he fights the Radiant Dead. This makes his mother very happy, and John can leave her with a clear conscience.

Amazon Rainforest- John and Caolan arrive in the Rainforest but find everyone missing and Darkstar symbols everywhere. They are then ambushed by the Green Lantern's sent by Thaaros for find Varron. John tries to explain they have the same enemy but the group is attacked by the Radiant Queen and her army of Radiant Dead. Many of the Green Lanterns are killed and it looks like John and Caolan are next.
