The surviving members of the Justice Society of America unite to bid farewell to a fallen comrade, Wesley Dodds who is also known as the Sandman. While at the burial, Fate appears to inform the Society members that he was murdered just like Dodds. A group of mummies arise from the ground to gather Fate's weapons, but the JSA stop them. After the mummies are defeated, the Scarab appears with some answers.
