Flung through time and space by the awesome power of the Emerald Eye, a contingent of Legionnaires finds itself stranded on Earth--in the 20th century! Now they must survive on a primitive planet of living legends and deadly dangers equal to any they faced in the 30th century.

Half of the Legionnaires wake up from their nightmare possession by the Emerald Eye to find themselves hovering over 20th century Metropolis. Brainiac 5 deduces their point in time and challenges the team to follow a green ball of energy, which brought them there and would be vital if they were to return home. The Legionnaires race through Metropolis after it, encountering some legendary help.
