Simon Stragg offers a one million dollar reward to the scientist who can "cure" Rex Mason of his "condition" (being Metamorpho). Secretly, though, Stragg's intentions are anything but altruistic, as he wishes to use the "cure" to make Metamorpho his pawn. However, Professor Franz Zorb, the winner of the contest, has plans all his own, and using Stragg's own labs, he sets them in motion by creating Hafnium, Osmium, Selenium, Strontium, Tantalum, and Thallium--the Chemo-Robots. Now it's up to Metamorpho to stop Zorb and recover the experimental Nucleonic Moleculizer Projector. Can he save the day or will Zorb's "test-tube terrors" spell death for the Element Man?
