Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere #9 (of 9)
Chapter Nine
September 1st, 2006
Mike Carey's and Glenn Fabry's electric retelling of Neil Gaiman's classic novel of London magic and mysticism comes to a close as Door confronts her family's true killer and Richard must make a final decision between the London Above and the London Below.
In the series finale, Hunter is mortally wounded by the Great Beast of London. Expressing remorse over betrayal of Door, she sacrifices herself so that Richard may kill the monster.
The angel Islington reveals its motive to Door. Richard and the Marquis come to her rescue, but are stopped easily by Vandemar and Croup. Door, however, tricks Islington by opening a door to as far away as she can. Promising forgiveness if Door will just close the portal, Islington is sucked into it and so are the Messrs.
Afterward, Richard is given his existence in "London Above" back, but is it what he wants?
