Sven's life is not an easy one and his childhood was the beginning of this fight with his culture and the viking ideal of dying for an ethereal reward. "I choose to live" is a quote that guides Sven's destiny, even if it means to be an outcast.

This issue shows not only the end of his childhood but his arrival to Constantinople as well. "The Great City" where Sven found a new home, a new culture and a new life.

The issue concludes with a preview of House of Mystery #1, that is narrated by some of Vertigo's most renown characters including: Bigby Wolf, Jack Horner, John Constantine, Kathy George, Kid Eternity, Shade, Wesley Dodds and of course Fig Keele.
