Story 1: Capital Crimes Of The Chemical Conqueror!
The Legion arrive too late to save R.J. Brande from a sludge monster and he is missing from his office. Meanwhile, Sun Boy also falls prey to another sludge monster and Brainiac 5 learns that he is in a comatose state, much like Shadow Lass when she encountered a sludge monster. It is revealed that the one behind the sludge monsters is Mantis Morlo and Brainiac 5 finds a way to defeat him, even though he has been acting very callous and apathetic.
