The Rag Doll Runs Wild!

Police forensics scientist, Barry Allen, makes plans to keep a rendezvous with Joan Garrick, the wife of the Golden Age Flash. En route to Earth-2, Allen, as the Flash encounters the Walton Gang. Moving faster than the eye can see, the Flash takes possession of the Walton Gang's stolen loot, disarms them, then deposits them in front of the nearest patrol car. Garrick expresses her fears, to the Flash, that something is wrong with her husband.

The Flash seeks out his Earth-2 counterpart, who admits to being troubled. Over the past several days, the Golden Age Flash has been on hand to foil several robberies, committed by an old nemesis, the Rag Doll. Each time, the Rag Doll has been able to escape from the Golden Age Flash, due to inexplicable errors the Scarlet Speedster made, in attempting to apprehend the Rag Doll. After the third such error was particularly embarrassing, the Golden Age Flash has begun to think that he no longer has what it takes to be a crime fighter.

The Flash tries to console his counterpart, while offering words of encouragement. Suddenly, the Rag Doll runs past them. The two Flashes pursue the Rag Doll. Once again, the Golden Age Flash suffers a mishap, causing him to give up the chase. The Silver Age Flash, however, runs the Rag Doll to ground, then buries him up to his neck. The Silver Age Flash notices a strange luminous aura around both the Rag Doll's and the Golden Age Flash's heads, rousing his suspicion.

At police headquarters, the Rag Doll claims to have no memory of his robberies. The Rag Doll submits to a polygraph test to prove his sincerity. Horrifically, during the test, the Rag Doll seemingly transforms into a real, lifeless, rag doll. Despite the nightmarish quality of the mystery, the Silver Age Flash takes his leave of his counterpart, returning to his proper dimension. That night, in the darkened police laboratory, the Silver Age Flash confronts the true mastermind behind his counterpart's troubles, the Thinker.

The Silver Age Flash reveals that his departure was a ruse, and that he faked the Rag Doll's transformation to flush out the Thinker. Using the power of his thinking cap, the Thinker quickly subdues the Silver Age Flash. Suddenly, the Golden Age Flash races into the room. Quickly swapping helmets with the Thinker, faster than the eye can see, leaves the Thinker powerless. After beating the Thinker into unconsciousness, the two Flashes shake hands over a job well done, before the Silver Age Flash actually returns home.
