- The City That Was For Sale: (Superman) Lois is doing a story on dying towns so she goes to Readville and talks to a banker named Toomey, telling him that Superman will come to fix the soil and help improve the town and the Daily Planet will put up a $100,000 bond insuring this so he should get things started. instead, he doesn't tell anyone in town about Superman coming and buys options on a bunch more land so if Superman fixes it up he can buy it at the old price, and if he doesn't the Planet must pay the $100,000.
