The sinister Winterbone has been unearthed from his chamber-grave beneath the streets, assembled his henchmen, and is poised to take the city as his own. With some of his criminal cohorts still behind bars, he hatches a plan to free them, and unleash a chilling prologue to his masterful scheme. The Nevermen, though weakened in number, have sworn to protect the city, even at the cost of their own lives.
