The Ghost agrees to the Spymaster's plan and infiltrates Stark International. His objective is to retrieve the smart lazer technology that Tony Stark purchased off the black market. The weapon in question actually houses the remains of Arthur Parks conscious mind. While in Stark International's Coney Island headquarters, the Ghost confronts Tony Stark and seemingly defeats Iron Man, who is actually a remote controlled decoy.

Also, Dr. Dillon, hired by Stark to reach the mind of Arthur Parks (better known as the Living Lazer), suffers a seizure and falls into a coma after her attempt at "Intrabeam Particle Communication". She recovers, but Tony believes it is too dangerous to her health for them to continue their endeavor. She convinces him to give her another chance, despite the risk to her own life, as she feels she can still make contact with Arthur Parks.
