Illyana Rasputin is a young girl who has seen much. The younger sister of the mutant Colossus, Illyana has spent half her life trapped in the realm of Limbo, a hellish purgatory ruled by the demon Belasco. In this strange, satanic world, one hope exists- an alternate dimension Storm, here to save Illyana from serving as Belasco’s consort. Will Storm of Limbo be able to reclaim her apprentice’s youth? Or has Illyana become too much of Magik, her demonic, unrestrained self?

Illyana is Peter's little sister; a mutant, and consort to a devil. In a flashback to Uncanny X-Men # 160, the X-Men attempt to rescue Illyana from the sorcerer Belasco, but he manages to pull the child into the hellish pocket dimension known as Limbo. Belasco plans to use Illyana as the instrument through which to summon the Elder Gods, in order to take over the universe. An alternate reality Storm and Kitty Pryde manage to rescue Illyana from Belasco, but not before he is able to take a portion of her soul, corrupting it, and transforming it into a Bloodstone. Belasco then gives Illyana the Beatrice Medallion, now possessing the first of five Bloodstones needed to summon the Elder Gods.
