With the Helicarrier out of commission and many S.H.I.E.L.D. agents killed or injured during the Hydra attack, Eric and Veronica are given leave to rest and deal with the death of Veronica's boyfriend and Eric's childhood friend, Chris. Eric and Veronica are in a small town in Vermont where Eric and Chris were born and raised and where Chris will be buried. Eric and Veronica grow very close, and Eric makes a move on her, on top of Chris' grave.

Meanwhile, in the post Civil War storyline, Eric's date with the girl he saved has ended, but he is back in her apartment as Ant-Man, and is using his shrinking powers to watch her shower. Little does Eric know that outside group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, led by Mitch Carson, the guy who put Eric and Chris on guard duty outside Pym's door, are searching for Eric to arrest him.
