The clone really thinks he is Peter Parker and goes out to find the real Peter to kill him. Peter is held up in his jail cell only thinking about the death of Aunt May and the safety of Mary Jane (which is being protected by Ben at the moment). Kaine gets possession of Mary Jane and takes her underground to "protect her".
