With Madelyne gone Nate is left to make his way alone in this strange new world. He won't have long to contemplate his new plight as the assassin Rex, sent by the Sugarman, arrives to take Nate down. And he just might succeed too because Nate's powers begin to wane. Things go from bad to worse when yet another survivor from the Age of Apocalypse arrives on the scene.
