Bolovax Vik was one of the most crowded planets in the universe, with a population of around 16 billion. All Bolovaxians are connected via their communal hive mind.

During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, the planet was destroyed. Through his sheer force of will, he was able to save the life energy of the inhabitance of his home planet and store them in his ring until he could find a new planet for them. Soon after he found a planet to bring his people to, Sinestro destroyed the planet and killed all of Kilowog's people. Kilowog is the last of the Bolovaxians.
