During the mid 1970s, Costa Verde was caught in a revolution. The Democratic government was under attack by rebels attempting to overthrow President Juan Elmirez. The rebel faction was led by Ramiro Xuc, also known as El Lobo. Thor, along with Jane Foster, traveled to the small Latin American republic after the rebels gained an upper-hand through the help of Firelord.

Costa Verde is contains mountains surrounded by thick, humid jungles.
