Earth 7 is one of the many universese existing in the DC Multiverse. The core of earth 7 is it works as an ersatz universe analog to Marvel's Ultimate universe, being the "Essential" version of characters and elements from the universe known as earth 8. However, there were also aspects than made earth 7 different: certain names or characters were different, even if slighty, but also, earth 7 had characters without a clear analog to earth 8 characters. These characters were even analogs to characters to others comic companies such as DevilFist (Hellboy) and Walküre (Angela, previously to her acquisition by Marvel Comics). Earth-7 is supposed to be analog to Ultimate Marvel comics Universe. In some alternate universes (earth-16) they are published under the Essential Major Comics banner.

Same as other universes, Earth 7 is a ficticious land serialized in monthly comics books publications, as for example, on earth 16, where part of the causes of its destruction was revealed.

History

Once, earth 7 was a world that shared many characteristics with earth-8, including history and super champions but with subtle differences. For example Thunderer and Wundajin were the same individuals but were from different races in each world, same as American Crusader from earth 8, who was analog to Crusader of earth 7.

However everything ended when the Gentry attacked and twisted the universe defeating their heroes. Billions of people and hundreds of super heroes perished, the world surviving as a mere shell of what it once was. Where there was intelligence and vibrancy, now only madness and death remains. The laws of physics shattered, Earth-7’s reality has been twisted and corrupted. Only Thunderer, the storm god incarnated survived thanks to the well-timed appearance of Last Monitor Nix Uotan.

Thunderer was successful however to ask for help and reunite a team of heroes from different universes to oppose to the forces than destroyed the universe of earth 7, when these forces attacked earth 8, using gentrified beings from earth 7 as weapons. Thses forces however failed to take over earth 8 and when the heroes went to earth 7 to investigate, the Empty hand, the new owner of earth 7, vanished them away. As answer, the heroes of the multiverse put earth 7 under quarantine, meanwhile the reunited forces in earth 7 worked on building the mysterious Oblivion Machine.

The situation changed when Darkseid, using his power to oppose to the Greatest Darkness, send his parademons to attack the House of Heroes, causing it to fall in earth 7. There the heroes discovered than the Oblivion Machine was almost ready, after the Empty Hand had used the planet itself to built the Machine, a machine than would unleash the Greatest Darkness in the multiverse.

Thunderer tried to stop the machine by invoking an storm such than the earth itself could be destroyed. Thunderer destroyed the machine and survived the trial, but that didn't help. In fact, the darkness spreaded out to the bleed, across the multiverse, causing the early death of earth 7.

In Multiversity: The Just, Offspring (from earth-16) revealed than there existed a team of Essential Retaliators who died during the Essential Genocide crossover event along with Essential versions of the Future Family, the Bug and the G-Men.
