"Earth-A", or Earth-721, was a world where only Ben Grimm and Reed Richards travelled up into space and was involved in the I.T. Plot.

It was later, jokingly, established that whenever a character acts out of character in the mainstream reality, it is due to their Earth-A counterpart slipping through a portal created by Reed Richards called the "A-Hole" due to "some idiot not reading the handbook". Doctor Strange in Avengers Disassembled, the She-Hulk who slept with Juggernaut and Hulkling and Wiccan in early issues of The Initiative were confirmed as being Earth-A impersonators.
