Ellis Island
This is where immigrants arrived to the United States in the early 1900s.
It was called the "Golden Door" by the ones who passed the medical inspection. The others -- the ones sent back to tyranny or poverty called it "L'Isola Delle Lacrime" the "Isle of Tears".
