Emerald Space first appears in Hal Jordan And The Green Lantern Corps #9 - Bottled Light Part 2: Brainiac. It is the resting place of all Green Lanterns who died in service to the Corps.

Explanation of Location

Emerald Space is the resting place of all Green Lanterns who died in service to the corps. This includes Lanterns Abin Sur, Tomar Re, Katma Tui and several others. Hal Jordan briefly visits Emerald Space when after his battle on Warworld with Sinestro. This has been Hal's first and only opportunity thus far to speak directly to Abin Sur and learn more about why Abin offered him the ring.
