Hoth
The name Hoth comes from Lord Hoth, a Jedi Master who led the Army of Light which defeated the Brotherhood of Darkness (of which Darth Bane was a member). The planet is one of the few in the Star Wars universe that has a consistent climate and is constantly frozen, though in underground graves there has been revealed to be lichens on which the Tauntauns feed.
The planet is featured most prominently in Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back when the Rebel Alliance makes it their hidden base but are discovered by The Empire. So it is that on the desolate planet, the Rebel Alliance and Darth Vader's Death Squadron meet in combat...the Alliance manages to escape to freedom though it is not the last time they and The Empire will meet in battle.
